'Bono gets Man of the Year at NRJ Awards' - january 22, 2000. Bono receives the "Man of the Year" award at the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France for his work on behalf of Jubilee 2000. He attends the festivities with his wife, Ali, and 5-month-old son Eli.
'U2 release 7 EP in U.S.' - january 22, 2002.U2 release a 7-track EP titled 7, which is sold only through the Target department store chain in the U.S. The EP includes songs from various All That You Can't Leave Behind singles that were never released in the U.S. previously. An estimated 100 CDs are distributed to each of Target's 1,055 stores in the U.S. The CD is also available through the Target.com web site.

The Complexions Contemporary Ballet in Melbourne is only using the music of U2, not Bono himself. The music of U2 will feature in 'Rise', coming to the Arts Centre in Melbourne next month. Speaking to a global audience of tens of millions, George Clooney, the prime mover behind 'Hope for Haiti Now' described the earthquake that hit the Carribean island on January 12 as 'a tragedy that reaches across all borders, all boundaries...the Haitian people need our help. They need to know they are not alone.' A stellar cast of musicians and actors, performing in three locations, included Madonna, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and Jennifer Hudson. In London, Jay-Z, Bono, The Edge and Rihanna performed 'Stranded )Haiti Mon Amour') a song written and produced within the last week.
